In Australia, we have a lot to be grateful for, and there is no better way to express our gratitude than by giving to those in need. At the beginning of the year, NTS was fortunate enough to be presented with an opportunity to do this very thing.
Late 2018, a friend of Sunrise Bethel Christian School in Papua New Guinea approached Shane Conlon of NTS for advice on setting up a wireless network at the school – advice which he happily gave. It wasn’t until Shane heard about a shipping container bound for that school in PNG that the nature of NTS’s contribution changed.
Towards the end of January on a pleasant Saturday morning, a group of volunteers gathered to pack the shipping container. Brand new office and classroom furniture (donated by BFX Classroom Furniture), boxes of stationery and teacher resources, first aid supplies, and more were loaded into the container. To this, NTS contributed equipment and instructions to set up the school’s network.
A couple of weeks ago, the shipping container arrived, to the great joy and excitement of teachers and students alike.
This was the combined effort of several organisations and individuals who gave their time, finances and/or resources for the students and teachers of Sunrise Bethel Christian School, and we consider it an honour and a privilege that we were able to contribute.
However, as the saying goes, “no man is an island,” and we could not have given what we could without the help of our generous technology partners: D-Link Australia Pty Ltd (Michael Crocombe – Regional Channel Manager NSW & ACT), Cable Source Pty Ltd (Craig Turner – NSW State Manager), and Electrocraft Pty Ltd (Richard Proctor – Business Development Manager).
