The Lake Macquarie Council has announced the launch of a Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) roll-out to create a vast Smart City / Internet of Things (IoT) network – the first of its kind in Australia. Peter Francis, CEO of Dantia – the economic development company of LM City – said this will be a “game changer” for the region; that it “will create significant opportunities … for start-ups, small and large businesses and open pathways … to build new technology and innovate”.
